It is the summer of 1984. The techno-industrial conglomerate Cybergenix Group has just announced the Biomechanoid, a human-form cybernetic robot. Augmented with lab-grown organic tissue, it is capable of substantially longer sustained workloads and vastly higher physical capabilities than human alternatives.

The young lab assistant Emily Richards is in charge of the Biomechanoid prototypes between testing sessions. She has a growing suspicion something is wrong. One of the prototypes is definitely developing sentience, in spite of Cybergenix insisting that is impossible. Her deepening relationship with prototype #6 leads her to a dramatic conclusion - she must help him escape from the Cybergenix lab facility!
